Steele County Substitute Program

Thank you for your interest in the Steele County Substitute program administered by Business of Child Care and the Care Connection.  The substitute program is a fresh initiative engineered to address care disruptions and their related impacts by deploying qualified substitute caregivers to assist in-home and family child care providers during their absences.

This program emerges as our solution to the evolving child care demands within our communities, ensuring the caliber of care remains exceptional, even in the absence of regular caregivers. This pilot aims to ease the load for 15 primary care providers by offering up to 5 days of substitute care over a 6-month period. Participants are offered flexibility in terms of care delivery locations and duration options, ensuring tailored solutions that best fit individual circumstances. A balanced financial approach has been adopted, with co-pay structures aimed at ensuring provider commitment while maintaining affordability.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the application below.  If we have more applicants than spots needed to be filled, the remaining applicants will be placed in a random drawing to fill the spaces available.
