Purpose: To provide grant funding to libraries to hold unique, interactive, community-oriented events or programs. These events will promote the culture or history of participating communities and should be designed to strengthen relationships between people from different backgrounds through diverse learning experiences. Successful applications will include projects that highlight notable NC women in conjuction with the She Changed the World initiative.
Timeline: Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. on December 1, 2019. Awarded libraries will be notified December 16, 2019. Final reimbursement requests and the final report is due August 15, 2020.
Final Report Requirements: Participants are required to provide the State Library with a short narrative and at least 3 types of items such as photos, comments and/or video clips from the events. Additionally, awarded libraries are required to use the template Project Outcome surveys provided by the State Library for all interactive events. Additional information required includes: length of program, number of times the program was administered, and number of attendees.
