International Council for Helplines (ICH) has award categories for both outstanding volunteers and paid staff. All ICH member organizations are eligible to participate in these national awards for their phone, chat and/or text helpline services. ICH awards are cause for celebration and highlight the work of individuals from our member organizations who make a positive difference in providing helpline services. It is the hope of ICH that these awards will be presented at an organization event or annual meeting. These awards provide an opportunity for publicity and increased community awareness. The awards are:
- International Council for Helplines BRONZE HOUR AWARD: 1,000 volunteer direct service hours or 10 years of service as a volunteer or paid staff. This award is given in the spirit of Harvey Hook, a former CONTACT volunteer from New Jersey.
- International Council for Helplines SILVER HOUR AWARD: 2,500 volunteer direct service hours or 25 years of service as a volunteer or paid staff. This award is given in the spirit of Mary Brown, a former CONTACT volunteer from Texas.
- International Council for Helplines GOLD HOUR AWARD: 5,000 volunteer direct service hours or 50 years of service as a volunteer or paid staff. This award is given in the spirit of Hernando Palmer, a former CONTACT volunteer from Pennsylvania.
Please complete the form below for the volunteer or paid staff who will be receiving the award. Award certificates are mailed to recipients quarterly (January, April, July and October). If a member organization requires a certificate for a special event, the form must be received 3 weeks in advance.
