POSITION DESCRIPTION
As an intern, you won’t just be along for the ride. You’ll work with our technologists and business experts to gain practical, hands-on experience that you can actually use. Our program combines traditional classroom-settings with project-based work where you can get involved with the products and services the firm is working on. Along the way, you’ll have guidance from people at all levels of the organization so you can start to build a long-lasting professional network and build relationships with the intern class through interactive outings and projects.
 
Potential fields you can work in include…
  • Site Reliability Engineer: The SRE is part of the platform technology team. They operate right at the intersection of Software Engineering and Infrastructure Engineering to build and operate large scale systems that are secure, fault-tolerant, highly available and scalable.
  • Technology Operations Engineer: This position is part of the Server and Network Operations Group. They are responsible for the day to day execution of the business.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Experience in writing high quality code with any common language. (We’re language agnostic, however the majority of our work is executed in python)
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture/principles. Experience with AWS or GCP is a plus.
  • Strong understanding Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with basic principles around monitoring and logging frameworks. Experience with any of Prometheus, Elastic, Logstash or Grafana is a plus.  
  • Basic understanding of networking principles.
  • Basic understanding of the following technologies: IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling
  • Basic understanding of server automation using PowerShell or python
  • Willing to take ownership of his/her work, working both independently and within a small team
  • A passion for technology 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills 
  • Strong communication skills

POSITION DESCRIPTION

You will work for the Data Platform Technology (DPT) team, where we deliver tools for our research and analytics teams to operate at their maximum potential. The DPT team handles the gamut from deploying data models and products, to making tooling to collaborate, share results and work at scale. Our team thrives in a fast paced environment where we work closely with the business and with the platform technology teams.

RESPONSIBILITES
For the coming summer, you will be working with our technologists to understand what it takes to build and deploy machine learning models, and the costs associated with them. Following this, you will develop infrastructural tooling that optimizes costs of our processes, present ROI of our data products back to end-users with visualizations, create allocation models and demand forecasts, all within the timespan of your internship.
