IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu 2014 Board of Governors Nomination Form
The Following positions will be open for election on the 2014 IEEE-HKN Board of Governors:
 
President
President-Elect
Student Governor
Governor
INSTRUCTIONS:
 
For the offices of President and President-Elect, the candidate must meet the following qualifications.
 
  • A candidate for President or President-Elect shall have previously served as a member of the IEEE-HKN-BOG or the Board of Governors of Eta Kappa Nu Association, and must have agreed in advance to serve if elected.
  • A candidate for President or President-Elect shall be a member of IEEE of Senior Member or Fellow grade and, if elected, maintain membership in good standing in IEEE for the entire period he or she serves as Vice President, President, or Past President.
  • A candidate for President or President-Elect shall not be simultaneously a candidate for another position on the IEEE-HKN-BOG.
The President and President-Elect  term of office lasts from 1 Janurary, 2014 to 31 December, 2014. The President will also serve one year as Past President 1 Janurary, 2015 to 31 December, 2015.
To recommend an individual for President or President-Elect, five (5) Chapters must submit a recommendation. Seperate letters from each Chapter are acceptable. 

For the office of Governor, the candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A candidate for Governor should either (1) have been inducted into HKN before 1 September 2010; or (2) have been inducted into IEEE-HKN after 1 September 2010 and be a voting memberof IEEE at the time of his/her induction.  In case (2) each such candidate, if elected, must continue to be a member of IEEE in good standing while serving on the IEEE-HKN-BOG. 
  • Candidates for Regional Governors shall be nominated by the active School or Alumni Chapter of that region, or by the IEEE-HKN-BOG.  The IEEE-HKN-BOG shall solicit nominations from the Chapters and recommendations from other organizational units of IEEE. 
  • Candidates for Governor at-Large are elected by all School Chapters. 
  • Terms of office for Regional Governors and Governor at-Large:  1 January 2014 – 31 December 2016.

To recommend an individual for Governor, the nominating Chapter must submit a recommendation and CV of the nominee.

For the office of Student Governor, the candidates must meet the following qualifications:
 
  • The IEEE-HKN Student Governor shall serve for a term of one year and is not eligible for re-election.
  • All candidates for Student Governor must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students at the time of their candidacy, and must be members in good standing of IEEE-HKN.
  • Student Governors shall be eligible to serve as a future Regional Governor, or Governor At-Large, once they have been elevated to the grade of IEEE Member, having demonstrated professional competence and/or professional maturity, in the IEEE-designated fields of interest. 
 
To recommend an individual for Student Governor, the nominating Chapter must submit a recommendation and CV of the nominee. 
Deadline: Please submit all nominations by 30 June, 2013.
 
Timeline:
20 April- 30 June: Recommendations submitted to IEEE-HKN Headquarters
1 September: Candidates for the Board of Governors Election announced
1 October- 1 November: Election of the Board of Governors
