Section on Early Career Physicians

Executive Committee Leadership Position
Nomination Form
DEADLINE: Sunday, July 9, 2023

The SOECP Executive Committee is comprised of twenty early-career physician (ECP) members of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Each district is represented by a District Representative (DR) and Assistant Representative (ADR). Though membership in the SOECP is open to all AAP members, executive committee members must have completed training in his/her field within the past 10 years at the time of initial appointment to the committee.

The ADR’s role is to support the SOECP District Representative (DR) in completing the work of the Section and Executive Committee within their district. The ADR is also a valuable resource to engage ECPs in the chapters and district. Please refer to the position description for more information about the role and the AAP District Map for information on district territories.

In alignment with the AAP Equity Agenda, the SOECP is committed to increasing the percentage of members from groups underrepresented in medicine that serve in our leadership roles. Diverse candidates in terms of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, subspecialty, practice location, and/or national origin are encouraged to apply.
