The Faculty of Education and the Department of Music Research in the Schulich School of Music invite applications for a Faculty Lecturer in the area of Music Education. This is a joint, full-time appointment with responsibilities in teaching, research and service (as needed).
Responsibilities: The selected applicant will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students and provide service contributions where directed by the Chair(s) of the respective units. The candidate will demonstrate experience directly related to teaching in Music Education.
We seek a dynamic scholar, experienced teacher and collaborative colleague who is familiar with the competency-based approach of the Quebec Education Program (QEP).
Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of taking up the appointment. While we are seeking an individual with extensive teaching experience in music education, we have particular need for the following areas of expertise:
Faculty of Education
Teaching in K-12 schooling
Kodaly training
Integrating music and the arts in the curriculum
Philosophy of music education
Research methods in music education
Schulich School of Music
Psychology of music
Music for children
Music in early childhood
Studio teaching techniques
Performance stress and anxiety
