This application is ONLY for Annual Public Assembly Permits (PA), which is required for public establishments who anticipate or operate at an occupancy rate of 50 or more people and whose gross sales constitute 51% alcohol.  Responsibility for acquiring and maintaining this permit will rest with the property owner or legal representative/agent.
 
Failure to renew your Annual Public Assembly Permit may result in a citation.

Inspections required for annual public assembly permits are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and are based on completed application submission and payment dates.

Online Portal User Information

Please note:  Before completing this application, the party or persons paying must create a user account with the City of Austin's online site, Austin Build+Connect. Please do not create a new user account if an account already exists; instead, just log in to retrieve your Austin Build+Connect ID.

The invoice will be added to the online portal after the Public Assembly request is submitted and manually processed by the Austin Fire Department. We will notify the Austin Build + Connect account when an invoice is ready. They may then log in to the online portal to pay the pending invoice and check the permit status. The permit request will be on hold until payment is received.

Acknowledgement of Documentation

Please review these guidelines carefully and inspect your property before the AFD Inspector arrives.  If you fail your inspection, you will be charged a re-inspection fee of $254 minimum in addition to the cost of the permit.
