Licensure and Maintenance Inspection Request

Payments for AFD services must be made online through the Austin Build + Connect (AB+C) customer portal. If you do not have an active AB+C account, please click here to register before proceeding with this request. There is no longer an option to enter credit card information on this form and payments we cannot accept payment in person or by mail.
You will need to have your Austin Build + Connect ID number available to complete this form. To find your ID number, log in to your account and go to "My Profile" from the left menu pane.
Once you have submitted your request and it is reviewed by our office, we will create a bill and send you an email notifying you that your invoice is ready for payment in your AB+C account.

Inspection and Occupancy Information

This form must be completed to request any of the following types of inspections:
- Inspection of a home for foster care or adoption
- Annual inspection of a licensed or registered daycare facility
- Annual inspection of a Group/MHMR home
- Annual inspection of a healthcare clinic, lab, therapy office, spa, adult/trade school, K thru 12 school or similar type facility
- Annual inspection of a hospital, nursing home, or similar type facility
To ensure the safety of the public and first responders during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Fire Marshal’s Office will require that strict safety guidelines be followed during your inspection:
  • Maintain proper social distances during the inspection
  • Wearing of protective face masks by both the inspector and resident
  • Limit the amount of people encountered during the inspection.  We ask that only one person accompany the inspector during the inspection process and that the other occupants wait a safe distance away, either outside or in a separate portion of the residence.  If occupants opt to remain a safe distance away in the residence they will be required to wear masks during the inspection.

These measures are being put in place to ensure everyone’s safety and the inspector has the right to cancel the inspection if any of these measures are not followed.  Cancellation of an inspection will not only cause a delay in your inspection process but may result in additional rescheduling fees.

Enter your AB+C account ID number below. This can be found on the "My Profile" page in your AB+C portal account.
Please allow 3 business days for AFD Inspections Scheduling staff to review your request and link your bill to your AB+C portal account for payment.
An email notification will be sent once your invoice has been created and is available in the portal for payment. You will then need to log in to your AB+C account and go to "My Bills" to view and pay your bill.
Once the fee is paid, the inspection will be added to the queue. An inspector should be contacting you within 7-10 business days to coordinate and schedule your inspection.
