    • Requesting to repeat a unit or semester
  • Confirm Payment Method, including:
    • Changing payment method (e.g. requesting FEE-HELP for eligible students)

 
Student Gateway
 
1. Please contact hdr.registry@ac.edu.au if you are having trouble accessing Student Gateway (here) and require a password reset. Please keep a record of your login details.
 
2. Enrolment Processes:
- NEW HDR Students will need to submit a copy of this form upon accepting their course offer.
- Continuing HDR students will have their enrolments automatically rolled over, as in previous semesters.  
- Enrolment information will appear under the 'Courses' tab in Student Gateway and an enrolment confirmation email will be issued for each enrolled semester.
 
3. Grades* will be released in Student Gateway after AC's internal Monitoring of Grades at the close of each semester.
 
*Publication of HDR grades is sometimes delayed due to external review processes, or in cases where extensions have been approved. Enrolment rollovers may be pending for candidates enrolled in coursework units, until the results of their coursework units are confirmed, and continuation in the program is approved.

Thesis Submitted
 
Withdrawal requests are processed in accordance with AC's Enrolment Policy (here).
 
If your request is received before Census Date (for the semester you wish this change to take effect) you will be withdrawn from your enrolled unit/s without penalty. Your course status will be set to "HDR Thesis Examination" during the thesis examination/revision process.
 
If your request is received after Census Date (for the semester you wish this change to take effect) your enrolled units will remain unchanged and will be graded as per the work completed by close of semester. Your course status will be set to "HDR Thesis Examination" during the thesis examination/revision process.

Please be reminded of the maximum revision timeline and resubmission guidelines outlined in AC’s Higher Degree Research Examination Policy (here) – in particular, refer ‘Examination Outcomes’ section.

 
Course Progression, Intervention and Exclusion
 
Course progression and enrolment in previously failed units is determined in accordance with AC's:
- Course Progression Policy (here), and
- Exclusion from a Course or Subject Policy (here)
 
Research Candidates deemed to have made unsatisfactory progress at their Annual Review may have their candidature approved to continue under intervention, or terminated in accordance with AC's Higher Degree Research Candidature Policy (here).

Key Enrolment Information
 
New HDR Candidates
If you are commencing your first semester at Alphacrucis (HDR candidates only), please complete this form to establish your desired course study pattern.
 
HDR Registry will process your first enrolment on receipt of this form.
 
Your enrolment will then automatically rollover each subsequent semester according to the study pattern identified on this form. Changes can be requested by re-submitting this form. 
 
 
Census Date
Census Date marks the final opportunity to confirm or change your enrolment each semester (without penalty). Census Date usually occurs in March for Semester 1 and August for Semester 2. Please refer to the relevant year/semester Academic Calendar - Higher Ed for exact dates (available on our website here). 
 
 
Continuing HDR Candidates
If you are returning from a Leave of Absence, please use this form to authorise the continuation of automatic enrolments according to your course study pattern. 
 
 
Enrolment Confirmation
Enrolment information will display under the 'Courses' tab in Student Gateway once your enrolment has been finalised each semester.
 
 
Semester Dates
Research Thesis enrolments occur in two six monthly semesters each year:
- HDR Semester 1 commences on the first Monday of January and concludes on the last Friday in June. 
- HDR Semester 2 commences on the first Monday of July and concludes on the last Friday in December.
Candidates must be enrolled by Census Date to participate in a semester.
 
Coursework subjects/units (including broad field of research subjects) follow the standard Higher Education semester dates outlined on the Academic Calendar - Higher Ed each year.
- e.g. HE Semester 2 2023 commences Monday 7th August and concludes Friday 24th November, 2023 (with a Census Date of Monday 28th August).
 
 
Fees
You can view Fee Information on our website here. Please allow for the possibility of annual increases in tuition fees due to CPI or other reasons.
 
Please note that FEE-HELP is not available to Permanent Residents (non-humanitarian). Click here for more information about FEE-HELP.

Study Load Options
 
Part-Time/Full-Time
At HDR Level, a part-time study load is equivalent to 20 credit points per semester, and a full-time study load is equivalent to 40 credit points per semester.
 
International Students
International Students studying in Australia (with a Student Visa) must enrol to study a full-time load (on campus), unless otherwise approved.
 
Offshore (International students studying outside of Australia) can study either part-time or full-time, online only.
Campus Options
 
Courses
The Honours program, Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Ministry awards are offered at all Australian AC campuses, including an online only campus.
 
Subjects/Units
Currently, all HDR subjects/units are offered online only.
 
If you are selecting a physical campus location for your course (mandatory for commencing International Students), you will notice the physical campus location description includes 'and Online'. This is to allow on campus students the opportunity to enrol in the online units offered each semester.
 
For example, if you were to select the Master of Philosophy at Sydney Campus in Semester 1 2023, your course enrolment will appear as "MPH23S1SYC - Master of Philosophy 2023 Semester 1 Sydney (and Online)' while the subject/unit(s) you enrol in are delivered online only.

Students seeking to submit their thesis sooner must ensure they meet the minimum candidature requirements (2.5 years full-time or 200 cp).
 
 
*RES803 (Research Thesis) will appear as RES803AA, RES803AB, RES803BA... etc., based on your enrolment each semester, with the unit code indicating your part-time study load.

I am encouraged to continue reading and maintaining an interest in my research project, and to stay in contact with my principal supervisor (although I will not be receiving formal supervision during my leave).

Policies

Withdrawal

Students may withdraw from subjects without academic penalty only if notice of withdrawal is submitted via the HDR Administration Form by the Census Date applicable for the subject in question.

Withdrawal requests received before Census Date will be processed and the tuition fee refunded. Withdrawal requests occurring after the Census Date will not be processed and tuition fees will not be refunded, except in cases where a Late Withdrawal is approved by the Higher Education Student Affairs Committee (HESAC).

If Alphacrucis defaults in the delivery of subjects, the arrangements set out in the Alphacrucis' Refund Policy* will be applied.

Privacy Legislation

Alphacrucis University College requires the information requested in this form in order to provide you with education services and cater for particular student's needs. If you do not provide all the relevant information, we may not be able to provide such services and to assess your academic progress.

Please note that Alphacrucis may provide your personal information and sensitive information to third parties (eg.
