Credit and Exemptions

Your experience matters!

At AC, we take your experience seriously. If you have enrolled in a course at AC, but you have by other means already gained the skills and knowledge of some of its units, we may be able to grant you credit for these units. In such cases, you would be exempt from having to complete the coursework for these units.

There are three categories of learning we consider:

  1. Formal accredited – Successful completion of equivalent units through an accredited course at AC or other accredited educational institutions
  2. Formal unaccredited – Successful completion of structured but unaccredited courses, such as a professional development programme at your workplace or church
  3. Informal – Unstructured learning through professional or voluntary experience

To see if you qualify for credit and exemption:

  1. Go to the unit list of your course page on the AC website
  2. Click on the unit descriptions to see its description

If you still think you have already gained the requisite skills and knowledge for any subjects/unit(s):

  • Click here to apply for credit from formal accredited learning
  • Click here to apply for recognition of prior formal unaccredited or informal learning
